Friday, Dec. 8
This free holiday favorite will make the whole family chuckle. Porkchop Productions Presents Holly and the Christmas Kerfuffle. With only a week left before Christmas, toys are disappearing from Santa’s Workshop and Holly has to catch the toy thief…fast! Big laughs, crazy costumes and an important lesson about believing in yourself are highlighted in this holiday favorite. Saturday, Dec. 9
Learn to make your own wreath! Learn to create a beautiful holiday wreath from natural materials. Go on a short nature walk to gather the materials beforehand. The event takes place starting at 10 a.m. at Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Drive, Moncks Corner. $15. Pre-registration is required, please contact Cindy Moyer at 843-899-5200.
Get into your festive flow at the Joe which will be featuring “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as well as pictures with Santa Claus and Charlie Claus, hot chocolate and holiday arts and crafts. The $5 event (kids under 5 get in free) takes place from 12-3 p.m. at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, 360 Fishburne St., Charleston rileyparkevents.com
Sunday, Dec. 10
It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for Mount Pleasant’s 22nd Annual Christmas Light Parade & Tree Lighting. Brilliantly lit floats and community groups will march down Coleman Boulevard as the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade sets sail to the delight of thousands of residents and visitors. The free festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Town of Mount Pleasant Christmas Tree and fireworks display at Moultrie Middle School.
