The Stingrays season is in full effect. This Friday, the South Carolina Stingrays take on the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tickets are $12-$32. northcharlestoncoliseumpac.com
Saturday, Jan. 27
Oyster roasts abound this weekend so get your oyster knife ready. The St Paul’s Exchange Club will hold an oyster roast and silent auction from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Wide A Wake Park, in Hollywood. Tickets are $25 for all you can eat oysters, hotdogs, chili and dessert. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate included, or you may BYOB. The proceeds from the roast go to support youth activities in St. Paul’s Parish, Support for Veterans, A Golden Age Luncheon for Seniors and The Prevention of Child Abuse. Tickets will also be sold at the door. In the event of bad weather there’s an inside facility so come out and enjoy.
Chili, hot dogs, shaggin’ on the creek and a silent auction. All you can eat single select oysters. All proceeds fund scholarships for the bright students East of the Cooper. Tickets are $35 and the event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the IOP Exchange Club, 201 Palm Blvd., Isle of Palms.
Not to be outdone, the 35th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Roast will run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant. Highlights include the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” Contests, live music on the main stage, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a children’s area and a food court showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste.
