OK, so maybe Mardi Gras was a couple weeks ago — who cares when you have an excuse to drink and party for a good cause? The Lowcountry Parrot Heads’ 14th annual Mardi Crawl on Shem Creek starts at Red’s Ice House at 1 p.m., with participating parrot heads crawling to various restaurants and bars in the area, including Shelter, Shem Creek Bar and Grill, Vickery’s and The Wreck. Each location features games, beads, prizes, food and drink specials and live music. Make your way back to Red’s at 7 p.m. for an after-party at Red’s Icehouse. A portion of proceeds from the event benefit the S.C. chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Pet Helpers and other local charities.
