It’s already March and with the spring season comes an abundance of family-fun activities. Here are a few of our favorites.
Friday, March 9
This Friday, take the kids out to experience a South Carolina Stingrays game. At 7:05 p.m., the Stingrays will take on the Greenville Swap Rabbits at the North Charleston Coliseum. Not a bad way to start off the weekend. Tickets are $12-$32.
Saturday, March 10
Visit Queen Frostline, Grandma Nutt and Princess Lolly in a life-sized version of the classic boardgame Candy Land. Families become the playing pieces as they move around on a giant life-sized board. The free event takes place at 11 a.m. at the Main Library on Calhoun Street.
Celebrate the luck of the Irish in style at the St. Paddy’s Parade Block Party from 12-6 p.m. The free Park Circle event will feature live music across four stages, street vendors, a kid’s zone, and of course, a parade that will kick off at noon.
It’s time to break out your oyster knives and make plans to visit the 19th Annual Shuckin in the Park Oyster Roast at the Old Santee Canal Park. The event runs from 1-6 p.m. in Moncks Corner. Call 843-899-5200 for details.

And of course, the ultimate family-fun activity. Second Sunday on King Street where you can bring the whole family free of charge and explore King Street downtown without dodging traffic. The free event runs from 1-5 p.m. on King Street the second Sunday of each month.
